Hello, literature fans!
The kids are starting Shakespeare next week and will take home their scripts to memorize over winter break. We encourage all parents to work with their children to help them understand the language. You can also check modern translations of the full plays online, though our children’s scripts are much shorter.
Students will be given printed scripts. You can also download scripts here:
Volunteers are needed during rehearsals, working with small groups to help children understand context and begin to appreciate the beauty of Shakespeare. You do not need to be an expert! This is SO new and foreign to children that any translation or insight you give is eye-opening.
THANK YOU to parents who have already stepped up. The more, the merrier!
- 2nd/3rd: Alora Herbst, Annemarie Levitt
- 4th: Susanna Su, Monika Jain, Susan Catt
- 5th: Debbie Massey, Quynh Nguyen
If you can help, please let Quynh know which class(es) you would like to work with. You are asked to come to 2 rehearsals in January, and if possible, the script read-through this Friday.
